Adoption and Foster Care Conference

On Saturday, February 19, 2011, For the Orphan Network will host A Future and A Hope Adoption and Foster Care Conference at Grace Covenant Church. The hope and healing that God provides through loving families will be addressed through our three keynote speakers representing the adoption triad – an adoptive family, a birthmother and an adoptee.

We will offer sessions intended for the individual or couple who is exploring adoption

  • Adoption Basics 101 – what are the choices? Requirements? How kind of expectations should I have going into the process
  • Domestic Adoption Process
  • International Adoption process
  • Foster to Adopt

This year the conference is also responding to the stir in the heart of the community to care for foster care children. We will have specific breakouts intended for those who are just exploring foster care that will answer these questions:

  • What is foster care, the requirements and needs?
  • If you can’t bring a child home, what can you do?
  • What does foster care look like as an area of ministry?
  • How do you help heal the child from a hard place?
